What is MEDEK?
MEDEK (Vocational Education Evaluation and Accreditation Association) was established in 2021. The association was authorized by the Higher Education Quality Council (YOKAK) in 2023 to accredit 83 programs, and in 2025, it has been authorized to accredit 111 Vocational School programs.
Establishment Purpose
The first steps of the association were taken with the encouragement and support of the Council of Higher Education (YOK) to increase the qualifications of Vocational Schools and their graduates in order to contribute to qualified workforce within the framework of Turkey's strategic development plans. MEDEK was established to evaluate vocational school programs according to specified standards, quality criteria, and performance metrics.
Mission
To contribute to improving the quality of education by providing information, external evaluation, and accreditation services for associate degree programs.
Vision
To become a leading organization that certifies quality by defining educational and research activities/administrative processes of associate degree programs according to national and international standards, and sharing results with relevant institutions and organizations.
