Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program
Program Objective and Scope
The Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program aims to train healthcare technicians who provide secretarial services in various departments of healthcare institutions, perform recording procedures related to disease diagnosis and treatments, prepare and archive medical, administrative and statistical documents, handle patient admission and file procedures, prepare patients for examination, possess sufficient knowledge, skills and competence in conducting all internal/external communication activities in healthcare organizations, and ensure written and verbal communication of their unit. The program was established in 2011 within Giresun University School of Health Services.

- 2-year formal education (Language of instruction: Turkish)
- 3+1 Workplace Training Model
- 3 semesters of theoretical and practical courses at school
- 1 semester of full-time professional training at healthcare institutions

Program Facilities
The program utilizes the classrooms and practical laboratories of the School of Health Services. Students have the opportunity to complete their practical training at healthcare institutions in Giresun province during practice courses, and at healthcare institutions across all provinces during workplace training. This enables students to reinforce their theoretical knowledge with practical applications.
