Child Development Program

The primary aim of the Child Development Program is to train qualified professionals who understand the developmental characteristics of children aged 0-18, are knowledgeable about their habits and needs, and can take preventive measures against problems children may encounter. The program also aims to train technical staff who can identify children requiring special education and arrange suitable learning environments, who have fundamental knowledge of child health and diseases, who can prepare educational toys, and who are equipped with basic first-aid skills. The program was established in 2012 within Giresun University Vocational School of Health Services.

• 2-year formal education (Language of instruction: Turkish)
• 3+1 Work-Based Vocational Training Model
• 3 semesters of theoretical and practical courses on campus
• 1 semester of full-time vocational training at a partner institution

• Assistant teacher in pre-school education institutions
• Support staff in inclusive education classrooms
• Nurseries, crèches and kindergartens
• Special education and rehabilitation centers
• Children's clubs
• Designer in the children's publications and toy industry
• Private child care services

As part of its practical courses, the program offers training opportunities at institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Family and Social Services in Giresun province. Within the scope of work-based vocational training, students can complete internships at institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Family and Social Services in any province. This allows students to reinforce their theoretical knowledge through practical application.
