      Duties of the Head of Department

      In accordance with the Higher Education Institutions Academic Organisation Regulation, the duties of the head of department are as follows:

      To be responsible for education, teaching, and research at all levels of the department
      To ensure that all activities related to the department are carried out in a regular and efficient manner
      To ensure the effective use of resources
      To participate in the school board and represent the department
      To monitor and supervise the performance of academic staff assigned to the department
      To prepare and submit an annual report covering the department's past academic activities and future work plan at the end of each academic year
      To chair the department board
      To appoint deputy heads of department and coordinate their duties

      Responsible for Academic Affairs and Quality Processes
      Planning and monitoring of educational activities
      Preparation of course schedules and teaching assignments
      Coordination of academic board and committee activities
      Monitoring of programme outcomes and learning objectives
      Documentation and reporting related to quality assurance and MEDEK processes
      Collection of performance evaluation data for academic staff
      Updating of educational materials and monitoring of academic content

      Responsible for Student Affairs and External Relations
      Monitoring of student advisory processes
      Coordination of internship and applied training processes (3+1 model)
      Administration of graduate and employer surveys; external stakeholder relations
      Informing and guiding students regarding exchange programmes such as Erasmus and Farabi
      Departmental representation in student clubs and social activities
      Monitoring of the graduate tracking system and employment data
      Collection and analysis of student feedback
