Purpose and Scope of the Program
The First Aid and Emergency Program at Giresun University Vocational School of Health Services was established in 2011 and began accepting its first students in the 2013-2014 academic year.
The primary objective of the program is to train professional healthcare personnel who can operate within the legal authority and responsibilities of pre-hospital health services, and who are capable of providing life-saving and disability-preventing medical interventions for patients and injured individuals until definitive hospital treatment is provided. In this context, the program aims to train qualified paramedic personnel to serve in emergency health services.
Education Model
- 2-year full-time education (Language of instruction: Turkish)
- 3+1 Work-Based Vocational Training Model
- Three semesters of theoretical and applied courses at school
- Full-time workplace training at healthcare institutions in the 3rd or 4th semester
- Paramedics, who play an important role in the healthcare system, are enabled to combine their theoretical knowledge with practical skills

Graduates may be appointed as Health Technicians (Paramedic) through the Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS).

Application Laboratory Equipment:
- Basic and Advanced Life Support Manikins
- Airway Management Manikin
- Simulation Manikin
- Ambulance equipment (Ambulance stretchers, Laryngoscope, Splints, Emergency bag, etc.)
Students have the opportunity to complete their practical training at healthcare institutions in Giresun province, and their work-based vocational training at healthcare institutions across all provinces.
