In Giresun, the “5th Provincial Action Plan Workshop” was organized to determine local strategies in line with the 5th National Action Plan to Combat Violence Against Women for the period 2026-2030.

The workshop was held within the framework of the National Action Plan announced to the public by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on November 25, 2025, and the Presidential Circular No. 2025/19 published on the same day.

The program, chaired by Deputy Governor Mehmet Fatih Yakınoğlu, was attended by Provincial Director of Family and Social Services Ender Yanık, representatives of relevant public institutions and organizations, and civil society organizations. The program began with a comprehensive presentation prepared by the Giresun Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services.

The meeting addressed in detail the determination of local strategies for the 2026-2030 period, the strengthening of inter-institutional cooperation, and the improvement of the quality of services provided. Participants shared their views and suggestions on preventing violence against women and empowering women in social life.

Our school was represented at the workshop by GÜKAM Deputy Director, Health Services MYO Therapy and Rehabilitation Department Head Dr. Ülkü Kezban Şahin and Sociologist Lecturer Elif Yeliz Çakır (Health Services MYO, Health Care Services Department).

The workshop concluded with the evaluation of concrete recommendations for the effective and sustainable implementation of the 5th Provincial Action Plan to Combat Violence Against Women in Giresun.

Our college will continue to contribute academically to efforts to combat violence against women in line with social awareness and social responsibility.
