2026-2027 ACADEMIC YEAR FALL SEMESTER INTER-INSTITUTIONAL LATERAL TRANSFER QUOTAS AND CONDITIONS
In accordance with the provisions of the “Regulation on Transfer between Associate Degree and Bachelor's Degree Programs, Double Major, Minor and Credit Transfer between Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” and “Giresun University Associate Degree and Bachelor's Degree Education-Training and Examination Regulation”, the conditions, required documents, application dates, allocated quotas, and other matters for students to be admitted to our university's
bachelor's and associate degree programs through
inter-institutional lateral transfer in the
2026-2027 Academic Year Fall Semester are specified below.
A. APPLICATION AND TRANSFER CONDITIONS
1. Lateral transfers between domestic universities are made between equivalent diploma programs at the same level of the universities.
2. The applicant student must not have received any disciplinary action.
3. For lateral transfer between domestic universities, the student's cumulative grade point average (CGPA) for the completed semesters in the registered program must be at least 2.50 out of 4.00.
4. Students whose lateral transfer is deemed appropriate may be given courses deemed appropriate to be taken from lower semesters by the decision of the relevant administrative board.
5. Lateral transfer cannot be made to the first and last semesters of associate degree programs, and to the first two and last two semesters of undergraduate (bachelor's) programs.
6. Lateral transfer cannot be made to preparatory programs.
7. Lateral transfer applications are made only within the announced period.
8. Having frozen registration is not an obstacle to benefiting from the right to lateral transfer.
9. In cases not included in the specified conditions but where hesitation is experienced in evaluations, the provisions of the “Regulation on Transfer between Associate Degree and Bachelor's Degree Programs, Double Major, Minor and Credit Transfer between Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” and the decisions of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) are taken into consideration.
B. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR APPLICATION
1. Student certificate
2. Transcript
3. ÖSYM exam result document (internet printout)
4. ÖSYM placement result document (internet printout)
5. Official document showing that no disciplinary action has been received (for those whose disciplinary status is not mentioned in their transcript)
* Original copies of the documents uploaded to the system during the application will be required during final registration.
C. APPLICATION DATES AND PLACE
Applications will be made online on the dates specified below. (The online application will be active during the application dates.)

Announcement of Results : September 01, 2026 (Will be announced on the web pages of the relevant units.)
Ç. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR FINAL REGISTRATION
Students whose lateral transfer is deemed appropriate by the relevant administrative boards are required to submit the following documents for final registration:
1. Lateral transfer registration form

3. Passport photo (2 pieces)
4. Course syllabi / contents
5. Document showing that there is no obstacle to lateral transfer pursuant to YÖK's letter numbered E.50957
6. Original of the documents requested in the application (can be any of the options: wet-signed, e-signed, e-government printout, or documents obtained from the university's official website)
D. FINAL REGISTRATION DATES AND PLACE
1. Final Registration Dates (Main List) : September 02 - 07, 2026
2. Final Registration Dates (Substitute List*) : September 08 - 10, 2026
(*: In programs where a substitute list is announced, registration is made according to the ranking in the list to replace those who did not register from the main list.)
E. FINAL AND SUBSTITUTE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE HELD AT OUR VOCATIONAL SCHOOL.
