Announcement Regarding Overseas Lateral Transfers for Associate Degree Programmes for the 2026–2027 Autumn Semester

      2026-2027 ACADEMIC YEAR FALL SEMESTER TRANSFER FROM ABROAD (INTERNATIONAL TRANSFER) QUOTAS AND REQUIREMENTS

      “Pursuant to the provisions of the “Regulation on Transfer between Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, Minor and Credit Transfer Between Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” and the “Giresun University Associate and Undergraduate Education-Instruction and Examination Regulation”, the requirements, necessary documents, application dates, allocated quotas and other matters for students to be admitted to the undergraduate and associate degree programs of our University from abroad via horizontal transfer (transfer from foreign institutions) in the Fall Semester of the 2026-2027 Academic Year are specified below.
       
      A. APPLICATION AND TRANSFER REQUIREMENTS  
      1.   For transfer from abroad, it is mandatory that the student's cumulative grade point average (CGPA) for the completed semesters in the registered program must be at least 2.50 out of 4.00.   
      2.  Students whose transfer applications are approved may be assigned courses that are deemed appropriate to be taken from lower semesters by the decision of the relevant administrative board.
      3.  Transfers cannot be made to the first semester and the last semester of associate degree programs, and to the first two semesters and the last two semesters of undergraduate programs.
      4.  Transfers cannot be made to prep-school (language preparation) programs.
      5.  Transfer applications will only be accepted within the announced period.
      6. Having frozen one's registration is not an obstacle to benefit from the right to transfer.
      7.  In cases not specified under the stated requirements but where hesitation arises during evaluations, the provisions of the “Regulation on Transfer between Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, Minor and Credit Transfer Between Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” and the decisions of the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) shall be taken into account.

      B. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR APPLICATION 

      1. ÖSYM Exam Result Document (and Placement Document) or International Exam Result Document
      2. Equivalency Document (Certificate of Equivalence) (For schools not listed in the ÖSYS guide)
      3. Official Transcript
      4. Turkish translation of transcripts that are in a foreign language (certified by authorized institutions)
       * The originals of the documents uploaded to the system during the application will be requested during final registration. 


      C. APPLICATION DATES AND PLACE
      Applications will be received online between the dates specified below. (The online application link will be active during the application dates.) 
      *Applications by mail/post will not be accepted.

      Evaluation Period          : August 16 - 31, 2026
      Announcement of Results                    : September 01, 2026 (Will be announced on the web pages of the relevant departments/units.) 

       
      Ç. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR FINAL REGISTRATION
      Students whose transfer applications are approved by the relevant administrative boards must submit the following documents for final registration:
      1. Transfer Registration Form  CLICK HERE
      2. Photocopy of National ID Card / Passport
      3. Passport-sized Photograph (2 pieces)
      4. Course Syllabus / Course Descriptions
      5. Document proving there is "No Obstacle to Transfer" pursuant to YÖK's letter numbered E.50957
      6. Protocol (Passport Travel History/Information) Document to be obtained via the e-Devlet portal
      7. The originals of the documents requested in the application (Can be physically signed, e-signed, e-Devlet printouts, or documents downloaded from official university websites)

      D. FINAL REGISTRATION DATES AND PLACE

      1. Final Registration Dates (Main List)           : September 02 - 07, 2026
      2. Final Registration Dates (Waiting List*)     : September 08 - 10, 2026
       (*: For programs with waiting lists, admissions will be processed based on the waiting list order in place of candidates who failed to register from the main list.)
       
                                                               
      E. FINAL REGISTRATION AND WAITING LIST REGISTRATIONS WILL BE PROCESSED AT OUR VOCATIONAL SCHOOL.
