The Science and Health Society, operating under the School of Health Services at Giresun University, organized a conference titled “Healthy Eating in Campus Life” on March 11, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. in the Mevlânâ Celalettin Rumi Auditorium.
The presentation was delivered by Dr. Efsane Yavuz Bedir, an assistant professor in the Dialysis Program of the Department of Medical Services and Techniques at the School of Health Services. During the presentation, students were provided with basic information about foods; they were informed about the concept of the glycemic index, the fundamental principles of healthy eating, and how to create a balanced meal, thereby raising awareness among the students.
At the conclusion of the program, Prof. Dr. Halil Gökçe, Head of the Department of Medical Services and Techniques at the School of Health Services, presented a certificate of appreciation to Dr. Efsane Yavuz Bedir on behalf of the Science and Health Society.
The Society’s academic advisor, Prof. Dr. Serpil Demirci, noted that such awareness-raising events, which contribute to students’ social and academic development, will continue in the coming semesters; she also thanked all participating students, the valuable faculty members, and the Giresun University Health, Culture, and Sports Directorate for their support.
