Our college’s Leukemia Awareness Club organized an awareness event at Giresun’s Atatürk Square as part of Elderly Awareness Week, held from March 18–24.

Under the guidance of the group’s academic advisor, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sevim ÇİFTÇİ YEGİN, students gathered with elderly individuals to participate in various social activities. Throughout the event, one-on-one communication with participants helped strengthen intergenerational interaction while also providing information about leukemia.

This meaningful event aimed to celebrate Older Adults Week while simultaneously raising public awareness about leukemia.

Such social responsibility initiatives carried out by our college’s student body contribute not only to students’ professional development but also to strengthening their social awareness.
