The “Elim Senle” (A Helping Hand) Social Responsibility Project, jointly launched by Giresun University and the Bulancak District Governorship, aims to provide mentorship-based educational and psycho-social support to primary and secondary school students living under socio-economically disadvantaged conditions in the Bulancak district.
Within the scope of the project, it is aimed to enhance students’ academic achievement, support their psycho-social development, and contribute to equal opportunity in education. While our University actively contributes to the project with its scientific and academic expertise, the Bulancak District Governorship oversees administrative coordination and collaboration with local stakeholders.
In this meaningful initiative, Dr. Sibel Aydın, faculty member of the Child Development Program at Giresun University Vocational School of Health Services, also takes part by contributing to academic consultancy and field practices. Her contributions, which play a key role in reflecting a scientific approach to children’s developmental needs within the project, are of great importance in strengthening university-community collaboration.
Not only our faculty members but also our students actively contribute to the project. Students from our School’s Physiotherapy Program have taken part in the field activities and mentorship practices carried out within the scope of the project, mobilizing their professional knowledge and skills for the benefit of the community while making tangible contributions to the developmental processes of the targeted children. Carried out on a voluntary basis, our students’ work significantly contributes not only to the development of their professional competencies but also to the strengthening of their social awareness and sense of social responsibility.
On this occasion, we would like to congratulate Dr. Sibel Aydın and our Physiotherapy Program students who actively take part in the project, and extend our sincere appreciation for their dedicated work and contributions to society.
