As part of the panel discussion titled “Legal Mechanisms and Practical Experiences Regarding Women’s Rights,” organized at our university to mark International Women’s Day on March 8, health awareness activities were conducted for the participants. The event, organized as part of the program, was coordinated by Dr. Ülkü Kezban Şahin, Head of the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, and Rıdvan Türkeri, Academic Advisor of the Physical Therapy Society.
During the event held on March 9, various health screenings were conducted for participants through the “Health Awareness Booth” set up by students of the Giresun University Physical Therapy Society in the event area. In the activities carried out by the students, anthropometric measurements and muscle strength assessments were performed, and participants were informed about their physical health status.
Throughout the event, the students highlighted the role of physical therapy in preventive and promotive health services, informing participants about healthy living, physical activity, and musculoskeletal health.
In the program aimed at raising awareness about women’s health, the volunteer contributions of the Physical Therapy Society were met with great interest by the participants. The health screenings conducted by the students contributed to raising health awareness as part of the university’s community service activities.
