Sports Event Held for Cancer Awareness Week

A sports awareness event was successfully organized by Giresun University School of Vocational Health Services in collaboration with the Giresun University Leukemia Awareness Club, as part of Cancer Awareness Week.

The event was held on April 8, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Faculty of Science and Letters of Giresun University, with the aim of providing moral support to individuals battling cancer and their loved ones.

The programme included wrestling demonstrations, arm wrestling, gymnastics performances, and badminton. Athletes from the Giresun Bulancak Youth and Sports District Directorate also participated and contributed with impressive performances.

The event was attended by the School Director, Deputy Directors, School Secretary, academic staff, and students.

At the end of the event, certificates of appreciation were presented to the athletes and their coach by the School Director, Deputy Directors, and Club Advisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sevim Çiftçi Yeğin.

We sincerely thank Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sevim Çiftçi Yeğin, advisor of our club and Head of the Healthcare Services Department, for her leadership and invaluable support in making this event possible. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the athletes from the Giresun Bulancak Youth and Sports District Directorate and their coach Ömer Faruk Sipahi for their wonderful performances and contributions to this meaningful event.
